Meet shop rider Jules Gallant!

Jules started mountain biking at the end of 2020, and got hooked instantly. In her first year, she spent nearly every day on her bike. Fast forward almost four years, and not much has changed other than what bike she has and what kind of trails she wants to ride. Over the last four years she has explored different avenues of the mtb world - enduro racing, coaching, park, free ride, down country to name a few.

Jules has spent the last few summer traveling throughout BC riding different bike parks, racing enduro, enjoying big pedal mission days and has spent her winters on the island with soaked toes muddy gear and greasy trails. At the beginning of 2024 Jules got her very own Santa Cruz v10 (Bike check to come soon). This beast of a bike quickly became an extension of her as she spent her summer living out of her 2 door Jeep Wrangler in Whistler. It also got her to try something new - Downhill racing. Her first downhill race of the season was Golden’s Psychosis—a grueling 15+ minute descent on one of BC’s steepest trails, Dead Dog.

She also competed in the 2024 Dunbar Summer Series and stood on the top step of the podium multiple times.  She is excited to be racing in the Pro Cat. next season. Beyond racing, Jules has started dipping her toes into the freeride world. She spent the month of October in Utah, checking out new terrain and scoping new kinds of lines. While gnarly ridges and steep chutes are thrilling, what Jules really craves is airtime. After a summer in the bike park getting more comfortable in the air, she’s hungry for bigger jumps and more airtime.

We followed up with Jules, and asked her some questions to get to know her a little bit better:

Favourite memory from the summer: “Definitely checking off some big goals that were on my list this summer; Crabapple Hits, D1, and Psychosis.”

Favourite trail: “If we are talking about island trails you can never go wrong with a lap of Double D with all the homies. If we are talking not on the island, I would probably go with Dirt Merchant to A Line.”

What are you looking forward to in 2025? “Getting back on the bike is all thats on my mind. After a summer with a few heavy crashes, I am ready for some consistent, uninterrupted riding. I have some half baked plans on where I want to ride next season, but until then I am excited to ride local with my friends and have a slightly slower, laid back life for a little while.”

What is your go to ride snack? “There are these peach rings that are covered Tajin that I found when I was down in Arizona last year for a training camp. They are pretty hard to beat. Ask Flowers. He knows.”

Coolest place you’ve slept in the Jeep?: “On my most recent trip down to Utah, we stopped in Grand Junction, CO for a night. We drove up this windy dark road that and slept on a little pull out that was sided by spikey bushes. Our little spot overlooked the twinkley city lights and we woke up to a pastel sunrise. It felt as if I was in a nostalgic summer movie. “
